We are looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Payroll Controller for our Israeli payroll operations to join our Finance Department. This role requires a deep understanding of payroll processes, strong analytical skills, and a commitment to excellence to ensure payroll is processed accurately, efficiently, and in full compliance with regulations. The Payroll Controller will support the Payroll Manager in executing payroll processes for approximately 600 employees, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery.
The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise with strong interpersonal skills, follow rigorous controls, and collaborate effectively with HR, Legal and management. We seek someone who is a highly accurate, reliable, and detail-oriented professional with a strong understanding of payroll processes and local labor regulations. This person thrives in a dynamic, fast paced environment and takes pride in ensuring that every employee is paid correctly and on time.
Responsibilities:
- Preparing and processing monthly payroll for all employees.
- Collect, verify and maintain payroll data including attendance, bonuses, deductions, and benefits.
- Ensure payroll accuracy and compliance with local tax and labor law.
- Work closely with HR, Legal, Finance, and external providers (Hilan) to optimize payroll processes and policies.
- Develop and enforce payroll controls to maintain compliance, prevent errors, and improve efficiency.
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual reconciliations, audits, and financial reporting related to payroll.
- Utilize Excel and other tools to implement payroll analytics, tracking trends and ensuring data accuracy.
- Maintain employee payroll records and respond to payroll-related inquiries.
Requirements
Requirements:
- Certified Payroll Professional, with at least 2 years of proven experience payroll processing for 300+ employees, including hourly-paid employees.
- Strong attention to detail, structured and meticulous approach, and a commitment to excellence in payroll execution.
- Strong organizational ,time management and Team player with good communication skills.
- Strong knowledge of Israeli payroll taxation, labor laws, pensions, and social rights.
- Proficiency in Excel for payroll analysis, reporting, and control development.
- Experience with Hilan payroll management systems.
- Certified and experienced bookkeeper (advantage).
- Experience working in a Hi-Tech company (advantage).
- Familiarity with NetSuite (advantage).
