About the Role
Insurance-tech industry is booming YoY and with it, so are the risks related to insurance fraud. We are looking for someone with analytical thinking and interest in fighting insurance fraud and risk; Someone who is naturally curious and has a strong desire to network with peers and partners within the insurance risk space. You will be responsible for conducting account investigations, making account-level judgements, and providing support for special handling of risk scenarios. You will be confident in looking through data, assessing various indicators and making judgements on your findings. You will get the chance to influence the product roadmap by helping identify fraud patterns, automate the investigation process, and give inputs for building a strong fraud detection and prevention engine. You will be the champions for bulletproofing Ethos against insurance fraud.
Prior experience in fraud within e-commerce or payments or insurance is good to have but not mandatory. We encourage you to apply if you have data-driven problem solving skills and are curious to join a high paced start-up and learn how tech will revolutionize the insurance industry.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Investigate accounts to identify fraudulent insurance agents, customer accounts, payment risk, and other fraud vectors
- Conduct investigations on customer accounts to support insurance partner requirements
- Assess risk factors and trends of potential fraudulent activity
- Help maintain fraud detection strategies and business rules that balance fraud loss and customer experience
- Contribute to root cause analysis to identify opportunities to predict, prevent, and mitigate risk within process and performance
- Participate in bi-weekly, monthly and quarterly business reviews for the broader risk management team
- Work with product manager to build fraud prevention tools
Qualifications and Skills:
- Experience using data to make assessments/judgements
- A growth mindset, curiosity to learn and a team-focused mentality with effective problem solving skills
- The ability to approach challenges from a user perspective while being pragmatic & solutions oriented
- Fraud experience in payments, e-commerce, fintech or insurtech mitigating financial or insurance risk and/or fraud , performing fraud analysis, fraud investigations, or fraud operations is a huge bonus
- Experience in a high growth technology company
- Experience working from a queue
