About the Role
The VP of Finance will be responsible for financial strategy, forecasting, operational efficiency, and revenue optimization. This leader will drive scalable financial processes, develop key performance indicators (KPIs), and align financial strategies with business growth objectives. The ideal candidate is data-driven, customer-centric, and thrives in a collaborative, high-growth environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Strategy and Planning
- Develop and execute a scalable financial model that supports company growth, ensuring profitability and capital efficiency.
- Lead financial forecasting, budgeting, and scenario planning to guide executive decision-making.
2. Revenue Optimization & Capital Efficiency
- Improve ARR growth and unit economics by refining pricing strategies, customer retention models, and financial resource allocation.
- Ensure efficient cash flow management, expense control, and capital deployment to support sustainable growth.
- Optimize customer acquisition cost (CAC) and lifetime value (LTV) metrics in collaboration with Sales and Customer Success teams.
3. Data-Driven Financial & Operational Reporting
- Develop and maintain a financial dashboard, tracking revenue, churn, CAC:LTV, burn rate, profitability, and other operational metrics.
- Ensure financial reporting provides actionable insights for leadership, investors, and stakeholders.
- Implement automation and analytics to improve operational efficiency and decision-making.
- Drive monthly and quarterly reporting cadence for the board and investors
4. Operational Scalability & Compliance
- Establish scalable financial processes and internal controls to support the company’s rapid growth.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, SaaS accounting standards, tax regulations, and investor reporting requirements.
- Implement finance automation tools to increase efficiency and reduce manual processes.
5. Executive Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Serve as a strategic finance leader, aligning finance with Sales, Marketing, Product, Customer Success, and Operations to drive execution.
- Partner with executive leadership to ensure financial transparency and accountability across the company.
- Build and mentor a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and financial excellence, financial modeling, forecasting, and KPI development expertise
About You
- 12+ years of experience in financial leadership, SaaS finance, or fintech, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record of scaling financial operations in a high-growth, investor-backed software environment.
- Strong analytical skills, with expertise in financial modeling, forecasting, and KPI development.
- Ability to shift altitudes seamlessly, thinking strategically while also rolling up your sleeves in a hands-on, execution-oriented role.
- Deep understanding of SaaS metrics, ARR growth, and unit economics.
- Strong executive presence and great communication skills, with the ability to distill complex concepts down to simple narratives.
- Collaborative and customer-centric mindset, aligning financial operations with company growth objectives.
- Experience in fundraising, investor relations, and capital allocation strategies is a plus.
