Position Summary

The Payment Processing Specialist will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely execution of daily payment transactions, including ACH, wire transfers, and other electronic payments. This role plays a critical part in maintaining compliance, accuracy, and efficiency within Autobooks’ payment operations. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, demonstrates strong attention to detail, and proactively identifies opportunities to streamline processes.

Please note: This position requires availability between 8am and 8pm EST. Shifts include 8am-4pm and 12pm-8pm.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process daily payment transactions, including ACH, wire transfers, and other electronic payments.
  • Maintain accurate records of all payment processing activities and ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance payment processing efficiency and accuracy, implementing best practices where appropriate.
  • Document and maintain clear processing procedures for staff review and training.
  • Research and resolve issues related to payment discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Analyze payment data, identify trends, and recommend corrective actions or improvements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support smooth payment operations.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of experience in payment processing, banking, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of payment systems and processes (e.g., ACH, wire transfers).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy; highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams.
  • Ability to interpret data, identify next steps, and act according to established procedures.
  • A mindset that perceives beyond the obvious, anticipating issues before they arise.
